The Classrooms
We believe that children learn in response to their environments and
deserve to work in challenging environments that stimulate and hold
their concentration. We strive to provide aesthetically attractive and
stimulating learning environments that challenge and celebrate the children's
learning.
ICT plays a very prominent role
in our school curriculum. We aim to ensure that all children are
confident and have the necessary skills to understand and use
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to their fullest
potential. In order to achieve this we have a commitment to ensure
that the children have access to the most up to date equipment
we can provide. |
|
Each classroom has its own computer.
Classrooms from kindergarten to Years 6/7 also have their own
data projectors, which allows the computer screen to be projected
onto the large classroom whiteboard. |
|
Our computer suite has 10 fully networked
computers. All are accessible to the Internet through a Broadband
connection. We also have a laptop trolley that houses 10 laptop. |
| We also have 3 interactive whiteboards.
One in our computer suite that is used by all children from Kindergarten
to Year 5. One in our Year 1 unit and one in our Year 6/7 class.
These touch-sensitive boards allows children to interact with it
directly with a special pen, rather than through a computer keyboard.
The boards are linked to a presenter and their own computer and
include a multitude of software relating to all areas of the curriculum.
|
|
This is the first interactive board in the schools
of the Turks and Caicos Islands. |
|
|
We are proud to be bringing the best resources
possible to our children and are currently fundraising towards
having one in every classroom in the future. |
| We also have a well stocked library of fiction and
non-fiction books, and music room which homes our own steel pan
drums. |
